Detailed Guide – The Best Disneyland Paris Hotels 2024

When planning a trip to Disneyland Paris, one of the most important decisions you’ll make is where to stay. With so many accommodation options available from the official on-site Disney hotels to off-site accommodation, it can be overwhelming to decide which hotel or resort is the best fit for you and your family.

As someone who has visited Disneyland Paris multiple times, I can offer some helpful tips to make the decision-making process easier.

Tip: I always use the Disneyland Paris hotel price calendar to help compare the costs of staying at a Disneyland Paris hotel or resort during different times of the year to find the best price and then compare that with prices from attractiontickets.com for the best deal.

In this detailed guide, we will cover all six on-site hotels currently open at Disneyland Paris, rated from the most luxurious right down to the best value resort hotels and we will also include some of the recommended accommodation options off-site including Disney’s Davy Crockett ranch.

Disney Hotel New York: The Art of Marvel (4* Marvel themed)

This is currently the most luxurious and most expensive out of all the on-site hotels at Disneyland Paris – at least until the revamped Disneyland Hotel reopens next year.

This is our favourite hotel which reopened in 2021 after a huge refurbishment, transforming it from the Hotel New York into the Disney Hotel New York: The Art of Marvel.  This relaunch has made it a must for Marvel fans hosting the world’s largest collection of MARVEL artwork.

This 4-star hotel definitely has that premium feel which sets it apart from the other on-site hotels.

Rooms at the Disney Hotel New York: The Art of Marvel

There are 471 Superior Rooms, 65 Empire State Club rooms, and 25 Suites dedicated to Spider-Man, the Avengers, and other Marvel heroes.

All rooms are high quality, with a sleek, stylish Manhattan-style décor and Marvel portraits on the walls.  The rooms here are the most luxurious of all the on-site Disney hotels and feature one large king-size bed and one sofa bed, or two double beds which can sleep up to four people plus one infant.

All rooms at the Disney Hotel New York: The Art of Marvel have the following standard facilities

  • Air conditioning
  • Free WiFi internet access
  • Minibar
  • Disney and international TV channels
  • Safety deposit box
  • Hairdryer
  • Telephone
  • Luggage service

For Disney guests wanting an even more premium stay, the hotel offers Empire State Club rooms and suites  which come with club lounge access serving breakfast, afternoon tea and drinks and private check-in.

Amenities and benefits

The Metro pool is superb with a kids, indoor and outdoor pool and its typically a lot quieter than the pools at the other on-site hotels.

There are two restaurants, two bars and a lounge in the hotel – ranging from fine dining at the Manhattan restaurant to the Marvel inspired buffet restaurant, which is excellent.

Other facilities include a Marvel design studio, spa and gym but the stand out feature here is the chance to meet a Marvel superhero in the really fun and immersive photo stations.   It’s the Marvel SuperHero Station, which consists of several Avengers-themed backdrops to take photos which I really liked at this hotel.

Their on-site shop is smaller than the ones found at Newport Bay or Sequia Lodge but it does have some exclusive Marvel items that can only found here plus you can buy the hotels signature scent which is gorgeous – you can smell it as soon as you walk into the lobby of the hotel.

Location

Until the Disneyland Hotel reopens, this is the closest hotel to the theme parks, conveniently located next to Disney Village and a 10 minute walk to the park gates.

Newport Bay (4* Nautical theme)

Newport Bay Club is another of our personal favourites at Disneyland Paris.  The 4* hotel is themed after a New England-style seaside resort on the banks of Lake Disney, with a grand lobby and rooms with a nautical 1920’s theme.   This is a huge hotel however, the largest on-site property at Disney with 1,097 rooms so it can get busy.

Rooms at the Newport Bay

There are a range of rooms and suites on offer at the Newport Bay, all having a smart white and blue Nautical Steamboat Willie-theme.  Some of our favourite stays here have been when our rooms have had a view of Lake Disney, if you are lucky you can also see the fireworks from your room.

Standard rooms are spacious at 27m2 and feature 1 large double or 2 double beds and can accommodate 4 people plus one infant.  Family rooms sleeping up to 6 are also available at the Newport Bay.

All rooms at the Newport Bay have the following standard facilities

  • Air conditioning
  • Free WiFi internet access
  • Disney and international TV channels
  • Safe
  • Hairdryer

My recommendation is upgrading to their Compass Club level, for a hotel within a hotel experience with dedicated check-in, and access to the Compass Club lounge which serves breakfast, afternoon tea and hot and cold soft drinks throughout the day.  Room amenities are also upgraded at Compass Club with bathrobes and slippers in your room.

If you really want to splurge, then their suites are the most spacious and spectacular and can sleep up to 6 people.

Facilities

There’s two heated swimming pools (indoor and outdoor) and a fitness centre not that you will need it given the steps typically done walking around the parks each day.  There are two restaurants here – Cape Cod offers an all you can eat buffet and a la carte dining at the Yacht Club restaurant – for drinks there is the Captain’s Quarters bar.  Another hit for the kids in particular will be the character meet and greets and the large Disney store located off the lobby area.

Location

It’s about a 10-15 minute walk to the parks and guests at this hotel also have their own unofficial dedicated back check entrance close to McDonalds at Disney Village so you bypass a lot of the crowds from the other on-site Disney hotels.

Sequoia Lodge (3* US National Park themed)

This 3* Sequoia Lodge is my favourite place to stay when visiting Disneyland Paris in the autumn/winter,  with its woodland setting and roaring open fire in the bar of the hotel.

Sequoia Lodge is themed after a rustic mountain lodge, with lots of wood and stone accents and has a similar style to Wilderness Lodge at Walt Disney World.

The hotel is named after the massive north American sequoia trees, 500 of which Disney imported from the USA and Canada to create such a unique setting on Lake Disney.

Rooms at the Sequoia Lodge

Rooms here feature rustic décor in keeping with the theme of the hotel.  There are over 1000 rooms here spread across the main building and five smaller lodges.

Standard rooms are  22m2  and have a rustic woodland theme and come with 1 large bed or 2 small doubles and can accommodate 4 people.    Although the standard rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, and the Bambi and friend references in the rooms are nice they are now needing some modernisation and refurbishment.

All rooms at the Sequoia Lodge have the following standard facilities

  • Air conditioning
  • Disney and international TV channels
  • Hairdryer

My recommendation when staying at Sequoia Lodge is to upgrade to the Golden Forest Club level – these rooms here are of a slightly higher spec with additional amenities and are located in the main building of the hotel.

Other benefits of club level are private check-in and concierge, breakfast, afternoon tea and  non-alcoholic drinks in the private lounge.

Facilities

The pool here is the best out of all the Disney hotels for kids, a highlight will be the waterslides.  There are two restaurants, Hunters Grill which is the all you can eat buffet restaurant and Beaver Creek Tavern serving classic North American dishes.

My personal favourite here is the charming Redwood Bar and Lounge, there is no better location in the winter months, sitting by the open fire and relaxing after a busy day at the parks.

Character meet and greets are also available daily in front of the Disney shop here, which is also one of the biggest and best out of all the on-site hotels.

Location

It’s a little bit further around the lake than the New York hotel, so it’s about a 15-minute walk or a short shuttle ride from the parks.

Hotel Cheyenne (3* Toy Story themed)

The 3* Hotel Cheyenne is themed after a Wild West town and is a mid-range option at Disneyland Paris.

Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne is a must for Toy Story fans or those who love the Wild West theme, there are so many little touches throughout the hotel.

The hotel is divided into several buildings with a street running through its centre – for those who have been to PortAventura, its similar to the Hotel Gold River.    It’s typically really well priced, its less expensive than the 3* Sequoias Lodge and at a similar price to the 2* Santa Fe hotel.

Rooms at the Hotel Cheyenne

The 1,000 rooms are located in 14 Western styled buildings and have all been modernised in recent years ,decorated with Toy Story / Wild West touches like lasso-shaped coat hooks and sheriff’s badges on the curtains.

Standard rooms here are the smallest with 1 double bed and 1 pull out bed so for a family of four, make sure you book a room with 2 double beds which is slightly more expensive but more spacious.

All rooms at the Hotel Cheyenne have the following standard facilities

  • A ceiling fan
  • Disney and international TV channels
  • Safe

There is no club lounge level at this hotel, but their River side rooms offer the nicest setting

Facilities

There is no pool here but it does offer some unique facilities here that kids might enjoy, such as pony rides in keeping with the wild west theme and outdoor play forts.  If your kids love Toy Story then they will love the character meets here, as you see Woody and Jessie.

There’s also a Wild West-themed themed buffet restaurant, the Chuck Wagon on site, as well as a bar, Starbucks and a gift shop called the General Store following the hotels theming.

Location

It’s about a 20-minute walk to the parks along the Rio Grande river and through Disney Village.  Alternatively there is a free shuttle bus that leaves every 12 minutes and takes a few minutes to get to the park.

Santa Fe (2* Cars themed)

If you’re on a budget but still want to stay on Disney property, then the Hotel Santa Fe is a great option. This is the only 2*hotel at Disneyland Paris hotel is Disney and Pixar’s Cars themed with brightly coloured buildings, sights of Route 66 and Tex-Mex style cacti growing outside.

Rooms at the Santa Fe

The rooms are basic but comfortable and bright with all a great Cars theme, so its great for kids.  Like the Hotel Cheyenne there are no club level rooms here and for a stay in the summer months there is no air conditioning in these rooms.

All rooms at the Santa Fe have the following standard facilities

  • A ceiling fan
  • Disney and international TV channels
  • Safe

Facilities

There is no swimming pool at the Santa Fe but there is an on-site buffet restaurant, bar, gift shop and there is even a Starbucks here in the main building.

Location

It’s a similar walking distance to the parks as the Cheyenne,  a 20-minute walk or a short shuttle ride from the parks.

Disney Davy Crockett Ranch

Designed to look like an American frontier village, this 3* property offers self catering wooden cabins in a beautiful woodland setting.

Rooms at the Disney Davy Crockett Ranch

Bungalows here are set in the forest and come complete with a kitchen and room for up to 6 people.  Each bungalow also has its own  car parking space, private deck with picnic area and BBQ.  Premium cabins here offer upgraded amenities and a closer to the main village and its facilities.

Facilities

There is so much here for families to do from an indoor tennis court and mini golf to video game arcades and an outdoor play area. The highlight is the Blue Springs indoor heated pool complete with waterfalls and rivers.

Location

At this Disney property you will not be able to walk to the park, its a 15 minute drive from the Disney Parks.  You will need a car here as there is no Disney shuttle to take you into the parks.

Benefits of staying at the on-site hotels at Disneyland Paris

All Disney hotels come with really beneficial perks, from being able to meet Disney characters in your hotel away from the huge crowds at the parks to the extra magic hours offered each morning – which allows you to enter the parks 1 hour before they open to off-site guests.

Rooms are available from 3 pm, however you can arrive earlier at the hotel and, once you have checked in, you will be given your park passes to start enjoying the Disney parks.

Whichever hotel at Disneyland Paris you choose, staying on-site comes with a range of benefits. One of the biggest advantage as a hotel guest  is that you get as standard

  • When you book a stay at a Disney Hotel, you automatically receive access to both Disney Parks!
  • If travelling by train from the UK you can use the Disney Express service and receive your hotel check-in documents and Park tickets in advance and your luggage will be transferred from the train station to your hotel, saving you having to carry it through Disney Village to your hotel.
  • With Extra Magic Time you can enter the Disney Parks before they open to regular guests!

Convenience

One of the biggest benefits of staying at an on-site hotel is the convenience it offers. Apart from the Davey Crockett Ranch, you’ll be no more than 20 minutes’ walk from the parks or a shuttle ride away, meaning you can easily come and go as you please. This is particularly useful if you have young children who may need to take a nap or rest during the day.

Themed Accommodation

Staying at an on-site hotel can be a really fun and immersive experience and extend your theme park experience thanks to the themed accommodation on offer.

Each Disney Hotel has its own unique theme, from the Marvel inspired Hotel New York to the nautical-themed Disney’s Newport Bay Club. Choosing a hotel that matches your interests or preferences can really enhance your overall experience and make your stay more memorable.

Plus, three of the hotels have their own pools, and all have their own restaurants, and other amenities, making them a great base for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Other offsite hotels and accommodation

Les Villages Nature Paris

This 4* property is is an official Disney nature resort and can best be described for UK guests as a Centre Parcs experience close to Disneyland Paris.  There is more than enough here to keep all the family occupied from a bowling alley, spa, forest trails, pony club and lakes.  The highlight is their giant pool complex which is the most impressive out of all of the Disney properties with giant waterslides, lazy rivers and wave pool.

The resort is 15 minute drive away from the parks and there is no free shuttle bus to the parks.

Disney Partner Hotels

Disney also offer partner hotels, which offer locations close to the Disneyland Parks and tickets included when you book a package.  Hotel l’Elysée Val d’Europe which is in Val d’Europe next to the huge shopping mall and outlet centre and a 10 minute drive to the Disney parks via the free shuttle service.  Rooms here at this 4* hotel are modern with a choice of standard or premium rooms, some of which can accommodate up to 6 people.

Booking and Discounts

Hotel and ticket packages can be reserved through the Disneyland Paris website and this will include park tickets from arrival to departure as well as benefits such as access to Extra Magic Hour on certain days during your stay.  Prices can vary to a wide extent on the hotel you choose and all have had eye watering price increases over the last 3 years but the onsite hotels at Disneyland Paris still provide the best Disney experiences.  – check hotel prices and availability here!

We typically book directly with Disneyland Paris which also offers additional benefits such as 12 months Disney+ included and further discounts if you have a Bluelight card.

Other options to price up include a hotel/park package from UK companies such as Attractiontickets.com

Overall

Disneyland Paris a must-visit destination for families looking Disney magic closer to home, without having to travel to the Disney parks in the USA.

With two amazing theme parks here, a great selection of on-site hotels, each with their own exclusive benefits, it’s the perfect place for a holiday in 2023.
