Review – Wine Bar George at Disney Springs

Our visit to Wine Bar George at Disney Springs was one of the best dining experiences we had on our Disney trip. I had heard so many rave reviews about this place before we arrived, so I couldn’t wait to try it out for myself and see if it lived up to the hype as one of the best restaurants at Disney Springs.

After securing a reservation which are hard to get, I have to recommend booking in advance, whether through the My Disney Experience app or OpenTable, because it’s definitely a popular spot.

I’ll admit, I was a bit apprehensive at first—after all, Wine Bar George is primarily a wine bar, and I wasn’t sure how family-friendly it would be, especially with our two teenage daughters, aged 13 and 16. However, we decided to give it a go, and I’m so glad we did.

From the outside, Wine Bar George fits right in with the beautiful architectural style Disney has created for its restaurants at Disney Springs. It’s an elegant, yet casual setting that feels both sophisticated and inviting. The moment we stepped inside, I could see why it’s described as “casual yet sophisticated.” The ground floor had a buzzing atmosphere, almost like a casual market bar with wine stacked high over the centerpiece bar, but we were seated upstairs on the first floor.

Initially, our host led us to a table on the outdoor terrace, which offers lovely views of Disney Springs. However, given the peak Floridian summer heat, we opted for a table indoors. Inside, the restaurant is beautifully designed with touches like wine barrel-style tables and large floor-to-ceiling windows that let in lots of natural light. While it’s an upscale spot, the atmosphere remains relaxed, and I was happy to see it was very child-friendly, with a kids’ menu available—something that put my initial concerns to rest.

One of the standout features of Wine Bar George is its tapas-style menu with an emphasis on small plates, but my husband and I decided to go for one of their most popular family-style dishes—a sharing plate of skirt steak. This dish came with caramelised carrots, parsnips, and roasted potatoes – it was bursting with flavour, this was unexpectedly far better than what we had expected.

The steak was buttery, tender, and perfectly cooked—so good that even our girls couldn’t resist sneaking bites of our meal. Honestly, words and pictures don’t do it justice; it was that good. This dish reminded me of what makes dining at Disney Springs so special—it allows you to try meals you might not have considered before and often surprises you with incredible quality.

The girls chose meals from the kids’ menu, going for crispy chicken tenders with fries. Just like our mains, the quality of their food was impressive. It’s great to see that even for kids, the food is a step above the usual fare, and it provided a welcome break from the more fast-food style meals we had been grabbing at the Disney parks.

Of course, you can’t visit Wine Bar George without trying some of their renowned wines, considering the restaurant is owned by Master Sommelier George Miliotes. The wine list is extensive with hundreds of wines available by the glass or bottle, but after a recommendation from our server, I opted for a whitewine from La Mancha in Spain, and it was just perfect—crisp, refreshing, and paired beautifully with our meal. My husband, on the other hand, chose one of their locally sourced Floridian beers, which he thoroughly enjoyed.

For dessert, I highly recommend their signature profiterole, which is aptly named “One Big Profiterole.” It’s more than enough to share, and it was a hit with all of us. We also shared the Floridian classic key lime pie, which was the perfect balance of tart and sweet—a delightful end to the meal.

Overall

Overall, we absolutely loved our visit to Wine Bar George. If you appreciate good food in a unique setting, this is definitely a must-visit. And yes, despite my initial concerns, it’s absolutely family-friendly—so don’t hesitate to bring your kids along. Make a reservation, take in the ambiance, and enjoy what I now consider one of the best restaurants for foodies at Disney Springs!
